A bit about me

hello!

This is me on my first day of graduate school (May 2021).  Graduation picture (April 2023) appearing soon!

I live in the Sierra Nevada Foothills, hence the pictures of beautiful Lake Tahoe!

I started my career as an auditor and corporate/partnership tax professional with a global accounting firm.  In my own development, I always believed there had to be a better way to train professionals that what I had experienced. When I interviewed with my second global accounting firm – through direct questioning by me – I had expressed my opinion on professional development and my passion for training.

I never anticipated where that line of conversation would lead me.

As I advanced in responsibility, I found myself frequently conducting on-the-fly training for my project teams and getting asked to “throw together” booster training.  Some of my training was borrowed by other managers to help their teams or I was asked to visit other teams.  A little over a year after joining that second firm (and after I was promoted to Senior Manager) I was tapped to join six other senior internal audit colleagues on a national/global strategic initiative aimed at improving and expanding the firm’s global curriculum.  What was supposed to be an eighteen-month assignment turned into almost four years.  I never did return to client service, and…
